besc substation course - Forum
i am also looking for the 1 day BESC (basic electrical safety competence - substation) course - any ideas where to find it?
For those interested in electrical safety courses, the BESC (Basic Electrical Safety Competence) registration scheme used to be intended for anyone working directly or indirectly on (or near) an operational plant connected with electricity transmission and distribution.
I say used to because the BESC competence scheme has now been closed and replaced with BESC AME, which stands for "Access, Movement & Egress".
You can find more information about this on the EUSR website: http://www.eusr.co.uk.
For those who don't know: EUSR is the independent skills platform developed by Energy Utility Skills (a bit confusingly called EU Skills), which is the Sector Skills Council for the power, gas, waste management & water industries. Essentially their role is to support employers in the industry and add value to the sector, and training is one of the main ways in which they do this.
If you're interested in this kind of training, you can take a look at our dedicated Electrical, Energy and Oil & Gas categories to see what the providers listed have on offer. They are among our fastest growing categories so we expect to list more and more courses here in the future!
Hope this is helpful to anyone looking.
