If you are thinking about joining one of the built environment professions, this is the first step on the ladder. The jobs you could be aiming for include: Architect Quantity Surveyor Structural Engineer Project Manager This course will give you a a solid foundation, as well as some practical skills in carpentry and brickwork, to give you a flavour of what its like to work in this field. You will learn basic trade skills, such as how to build a wall and produce timber joints, in addition to theoretical knowledge about how buildings are constructed (and stay up!), sustainability and materials.

Suitability - Who should attend?

Perhaps you are already working in this industry, in an office based role or as a labourer, and you are looking for your first chance at promotion. Alternatively you may be working part-time in an other industry and looking to break into this industry. Ideally you will have 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (including Maths and English), however, we welcome your application if you have equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience.
