Course description
If you enjoy working with vehicles then this course will give you your first step on the ladder to a career in the motor vehicle industry. You will learn about vehicle systems including: - engines - transmission - electrical systems - braking systems - steering - suspension At the end of this course you could get a job as a motor mechanic which will enable you to begin a career with an employer. To be a fully qualified mechanic you do need to pass a Level 2 qualification. This is a practical course but you will also learn that all-important theory. You will also be supported to improve your English and Maths skills too. On this course you will cover: - Working Safely and Effectively - Motor vehicle Construction and Routine Maintenance - Operating Principles of Motor vehicle tyres, brakes, steering and Suspension systems. - Operating Principles of Motor Vehicle Engines - Operating Principles and Maintenance of Transmission Systems - Operating Principles and Maintenance of Electrical and Electronic Systems

Suitability - Who should attend?
You will need at least 2 GCSE grades at E or above or have successfully completed an Entry Level Qualification.For mature students, previous work experience, enthusiasm and motivation to succeed and to progress will be taken in to account.
