Course description
Overview
In this course you will gain a thorough understanding of the key clauses in a commercial lease including rent review, repair, alienation and service charge, and how these can be amended from both a landlord’s and tenant’s perspective. You will gain an understanding of the key stages of a leasehold transaction and the strategies required to successfully negotiate a commercial lease to completion.Who is this for?
This course will be of benefit to trainee solicitors, junior solicitors and fee earners working in real estate, along with solicitors new to this area of practice.
What will you learn?
By the end of the course the delegates will be able to:
- navigate your way around a lease understanding key clauses
- effectively draft and amend key clauses to reflect a tenant’s or landlord’s objectives
- understand the key stages of a leasehold transaction
PLEASE NOTE that this course runs on non-consecutive days - there is a gap day between Days 1 and 2 to allow for reflection
PSC Elective
This course may be undertaken as a PSC elective, although it may also be attended by non-trainees.
