Course description
When you feel confident enough in your abilities to direct your own learning you may wish to join this class. Here you will have the opportunity to develop your own style in a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. The course tutor will provide projects for you to follow which will push you to expand your knowledge. You will also apply self-directed learning enabling you to gain confidence in working independently. We have a well-equipped studio and you will have an experienced potter on hand to help and advise you so that you can achieve your ideas and expand your practice. Clay, glazes and other decoration materials are available for you to use as well as our wheels. Other tools will also be at your disposal including an extruder and slab roller. All your work will be fired in our studio ovens for you to take home at the end.
To get the maximum benefit of this course, before joining we would ask that you are fairly confident in most aspects of the ceramic arts including hand building, throwing and glazing.
Recruitment - if we do not recruit to our target numbers we will try to offer the courses at reduced hours. If a course does not recruit enough students to run, you will receive a refund. Please refer to the Adult Course Guide for guidance on other refund issues.
