Course description
Learning for Life is for young people aged 16 - 24 who have severe learning difficulties. This pathway concentrates on developing communication skills, community participation, building basic skills and skills for life, so that each person is able to make progress in their independence and ability to speak up about their own choices.
Learning for life is a programme that young people can access for up to three years. The programmes are four days per week 9am to 3pm.
The curriculum is varied and builds at every opportunity on developing communication skills. The curriculum is rich and varied with art, music, drama, home skills, cooking, wider world and basic skills sessions. English and maths are embedded throughout the programme to enable each person to gain skills for life.
