Course description

This programme offers young people ages 16-25 the opportunity to develop personal and social skills as well as specific skills in the creative subjects of music performance, music technology, drama, art, digital media, photography and creative writing.

College based days will include creating digital music using logic and other software, music performance including learning an instrument or developing singing, being part of drama productions, visual art and photography and learning about different artists and developing creative writing techniques and storytelling.

Other personal and social opportunities to develop life skills that include undertaking a vocational taster and participating in department competitions, tutorials and developing citizenship skills.

Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level. Entry criteria are given as a guide, and the exact requirements in order to obtain a place on a particular course will be confirmed following attendance at a Welcome Event/Interview.

Continuing Studies

This programme leads to an AIM award in creative Industries at Entry 3 or Level 1. Young people will also get the chance to undertake a City & Guilds Stepping Stone qualification in English and math or a functional skills qualification depending on their current ability and qualifications on entry.
