Course description
This course covers aspects of both 2D and 3D drawing using AutoCAD widely used in industry. As well as building on the core Draw and Modification tools, this course explores other AutoCAD features and tools that will enable you to produce high quality drawings to a professional standard.

This course in AutoCAD is for those looking to enhance their knowledge of the software leading to a more professional quality of their drawings.
It is aimed at students who already have an understanding of 2D AutoCAD and are familiar with the interface, the 'draw' and 'modification' tools and some of the other commands such as layers, viewports and dimensions. Prior 3D knowledge is not needed as this is taught as new.
After enrolment students can use their City email account* to register and download the Student version of AutoCAD for free. For information about system requirements please see the Autodesk website.
Classes are taught using AutoCAD on a PC but is compatible with AutoCAD on a Mac (although you may find the interface is slightly different).

This course has been designed for those who want to build on their existing AutoCAD skills. It is aimed at students who wish to progress from the introduction course or feel they already have the core skills needed in AutoCAD. Students taking this course come from a wide variety of industries including, engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, construction, electronics & product design.

Assessment and certificates
Teaching is done through demonstration by the tutor followed by student drawing tasks covering the specific topics. The AutoCAD MasterClass: Professional Drawing Production and Management short course is designed that each lesson covers a new topic. This enables each lesson to be independent from the previous.
