This RSPH Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Health course is designed to give delegates the more advanced knowledge and skills necessary to promote healthy nutrition as part of their everyday working role.

Designed for catering and hospitality industry staff, as well as those in the health, teaching or care professions with relevant responsibilities, the 4-day programme provides an understanding of healthy eating guidelines, the impact of diet on health and well-being, and how to implement and encourage healthy eating.

Suitability - Who should attend?

This qualification is designed principally for people working in the catering and hospitality industries, and others who are in a position to promote healthy eating. It is also relevant for individuals working in the health, caring or teaching professions who might have a role in the promotion of healthy eating or the preparation of meals, menus and diets.

On completion of this, candidates will receive a Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Health.

Training Course Content

This qualification aims to equip candidates with a knowledge and understanding of a healthy balanced diet, and how this can be applied to adjust diets and menus; it also covers the relationship between diet and health & well-being. Holders of the qualification will be able to apply healthy eating guidelines to the development of recipes and menus to meet the needs of individuals and groups.

  • Understanding healthy eating guidelines
  • Understanding how to plan and promote healthier food choices
  • Understanding the internal and external factors that drive food choices
  • Understanding how to identify improvements within a specific diet or menu
  • Understanding how to address specific health problems through diet
