Course description

The veterinary nurse is uniquely placed to deliver post operative rehabilitation to patients in their care.  Physiotherapy should be implemented in all cases, in order to gain the best possible chance of physical recovery.  Exercise rehabilitation is essential, in order to regain full strength and mobility; and to reduce the chance of re-injury.  Exercise rehabilitation can also be used effectively in conservative management and also for the geriatric patient.

Specific areas to be covered:

•  What is exercise rehabilitation therapy and when is  it indicated?

•  How can we rehabilitate through exercise?

•  Exercise rehabilitation therapy for the orthopaedic patient

•  Exercise rehabilitation therapy for the neurologically impaired patient

•  Exercise rehabilitation therapy for the geriatric patient

•  A brief look at other areas of rehabilitation for animals

Speaker: Katie Lawrence V.Phys MIRVAP, PGCert Vet Ed (RVC), FHEA

Time: 9.30am - 4.30pm
