APPLIED SCIENCE LEVEL 2 FIRST EXTENDED CERTIFICATE BTEC (NQF) - STUDY PROGRAMME: This course is designed primarily for young people aged 14-19 who may wish to explore a vocational route in Science. The course leads to an understanding of how science can be applied in a vocational/work setting. It does not give you all the skills you will need to do a job, but it does mean you have the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that are relevant to your chosen area of is course contains mandatory and optional units. The units cover Chemistry, Biology and Physics. You will be taught in our new laboratories and will have the opportunity to gain work experience and go on educational visits.If you need to improve your English or Maths qualifications, this can take place alongside this course.

Suitability - Who should attend?
4 GCSE's at grade 4 (D) or above including English Language, maths and Double Science. In addition to these, you will also need a satisfactory school reference, a successful interview and initial screening.
