Course description

TEACHING ASSISTANT ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIP: Employers have helped to design these revised Apprenticeships to support the increasing demand for trained support staff in schools, attract new people to the sector, upskill the workforce and replace those who leave or retire. The Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship is applicable to learning support staff whose role requires competence across a range of e Advanced Level Apprenticeship is designed for learning support staff with a working role which requires competence in a specialist area and/or across a varied range of responsibilities. They will be working under the direction of a teacher who has overall responsibility for teaching and learning in the classroom. They will contribute to planning, implementing and evaluating learning activities and will work alongside the teacher to support whole class activities, as well as working on their own with individual, or groups of, e duration of this apprenticeship is generally 18-24 months and you will be required to attend college 1 day per is is a Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Suitability - Who should attend?

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s Grade A*C including:• GCSE Maths Grade C/4 or Functional Skill in Maths Level 2• GCSE English Language Grade C/4 or Functional Skill in English Level 2Having previously completedLevel 2 Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in SchoolsLevel 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 Certificate in Supporting the Wider Curriculum in Schools would be advantageous. Candidates must also undertake a recognised enhanced disclosure and barring service check.Working in a role such as Teaching/Classroom/Learning Support Assistant, Behaviour Support Assistant/Coordinator, Pastoral/Welfare Support Assistant, Bilingual Support Assistant or Team Leader for a minimum of 30 hours per week.
