Course description

There have been wholesale changes to Public Children Law Cases, ranging from a Revised Public Law Outline as from April 2014, as well as the relaunch of the PLO in February 2023. There have been developments in the law and procedure relating to Thresholds, bundle preparation, and Best Practice Guidance. It is essential that one keeps abreast of the expectations placed upon practitioners by the courts, clients’ and funding bodies.


This live broadcast session will provide a comprehensive account of the law and procedure surrounding this area, and a practical step by step approach to running care cases. It is aimed at those acting for the local authority, parents, extended family members or the children.


The session will discuss the steps to take pre-issue, running a care case, and funding and taking proceedings. The first hearing will be examined, along with criteria and orders sought, later hearings, working agreements, and much more.
