Course description

The post-pandemic rise in cycling, together with the introduction of electric scooters and bikes to our towns and cities has given added impetus to the on-going argument about the extent to which a failure to wear a helmet can result in a finding of contributory negligence.

Presented by expert barrister and popular speaker Colm Nugent, this webinar will review the current law (and relevant cases), consider comparative jurisdictions and give you the tools to enable you to argue contributory fault and causation effectively and knowledgeably.

The webinar will also highlight the new evidential development in testing technology which has resulted in the ability for experts to provide opinions on the forces involved in head injuries where a helmet is involved and assist the neurologists and other experts to take a more informed view on the likelihood and severity of brain injury.
