Course description

Presented by Andrew Butler KC, this virtual classroom session will provide an update on the law of limitation, as it relates to property professional negligence claims.


Particular problems with limitation and procedural considerations that need to be taken into account will be explored, including the new limitation periods under the Building Safety Act.


Andrew will provide a reminder of the basic limitation periods for claims in contract, claims in tort, and the relationship between them. Relevant case law will be explored, including URS v BDW [2023] and Canada Square -v- Potter [2023].
