Course description

The Family Drug and Alcohol Court offers an alternative to standard care proceedings utilising a problem-solving based approach within care proceedings to support parents, whose substance misuse has placed their children at risk of significant harm. The focus is on working with a specialist multidisciplinary team, Judge and other professionals to afford parents the opportunity to address these issues and ultimately provide good enough parenting to their children.


Presented by family law specialist Lorraine Green, this virtual classroom seminar will cover the key elements to this alternative forum, including how FDAC works, the court process, the multi-disciplinary team, and comparison between FDAC and standard care proceedings.
