Course description

The ICAEW have released their 2023 thematic review report on understanding the role of the MLRO. Based on a review of 240 firms, their MLROs were contacted and asked to answer some detailed questions about the role. The facts and figures have been collated and make for some interesting reading: Only 1 out of the 240 MLROs does not perform client facing work, most MLROs spend less than 20% of their time on their MLRO responsibilities, and nearly 70% said their main challenge was the volume of work.

This virtual classroom session with Joanna Morris will take a more in depth look at the report with additional guidance and best practice on the role. It will look at why the ICAEW conducted the review, the role of the MLRO and what the legal requirements are, the challenges that the MLRO faces, and more.
