Film Making for Beginners
This course will introduce you to HD video production through a series of exercises and workshops. You will learn how to organise your ideas, plan and shoot sequences as well as develop your camera, sound and editing skills.

What will you learn
In this course you will be using digital cameras, directional microphones as well as wireless microphones to record audio. Mac computers and video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro CC) will also be available. The tutor will demonstrate the use of the audio and video equipment as well as technical aspects of conducting and shooting an interview. Tutor will also give short talks and screen excerpts of films to illustrate examples. You will explore different techniques and approaches to conduct and record an interview at a professional level. The tutor will guide you through the stages of pre-production, production and post-production to produce a short interview.
There will be an emphasis on group work and sharing knowledge and experience through practical exercises and group discussion. The tutor will facilitate group discussions, and work with students in groups. Learning will be supported by course hand-outs, and access to online material covered in class.
