Course description

Level 3 Award in Transition to Playwork:

If you currently work in an early years setting and are interested in branching out and moving into working in a play environment with older children, this qualification will give you the credentials you need to take the next step. This home study course will introduce you to the key theories and principles of playwork, such as risk management and the importance of supporting the different needs and rights of children through a diverse setting.

Gaining this qualification will mean you are able to work in environments such as after-school clubs, adventure centres and holiday clubs and give you the skills and confidence you need to work in a playwork setting.

This course is delivered online and assessment will consist of a portfolio of evidence in different formats such as learning plans, written tasks and discussion. Students will be using the NEC Laser, an online learning system that makes completing your course – submitting your work, doing activities and getting feedback – straightforward and enjoyable.

Understand the theories underpinning playwork practice

Suitability - Who should attend?

You will need to be at least 18 years of age and hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification that covers the National Occupational Standards for Children’s Care, Learning and Development. You will need to be based within the UK, or if you are overseas then within Europe.
