ATEX Training
This ATEX training course is aimed at improving the knowledge and understanding of staff in businesses that have explosive atmospheres which can be caused by flammable gases, mists or vapours or by combustible dusts. If there is enough of the substance, mixed with air, then all it needs is a source of ignition to cause an explosion. It has been designed to be delivered on client’s premises
Explosions can cause loss of life and serious injuries as well as significant damage. This ATEX training course helps prevent releases of dangerous substances, which can create explosive atmospheres, and preventing sources of ignition are two widely used ways of reducing the risk. Using the correct equipment and training can help greatly in this.
The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR) place duties on employers to eliminate or control the risks from explosive atmospheres in the workplace.

Who should attend?
All staff that are involved with sites with explosive atmospheres. These can be caused by flammable gases, mists or vapours or by combustible dusts.

- Understand the substances and work activities that are covered by DSEAR.
- Understand what is meant by a dangerous substance under DSEAR.
- Understand what is meant by an explosive atmosphere under DSEAR.
- Understand how fires and explosions at work occur and the consequences of these events.
- Understand the risk assessment process and how to carry one out in relation to dangerous substances.
- Understand the key controls for the safe transport, handling and storage
