Illustration: Picture Book Boot Camp' (All Levels)
Over this 10-week course, published author/illustrators Jane Porter and Sophie Ambrose will take you through all the steps from developing your initial idea to putting together a dummy picture book with a sample of artwork.
Working with a supportive cohort of fellow would-be picture book makers, you'll develop characters and explore pacing, structure and composition to make the most of your unique creative vision.

Training Course Content
The course will cover:
Initial ideas brainstorm Character development Story structure Storyboarding Composition Putting together a dummy book with pencil roughs Completing a sample of colour artwork
We will also be showing you examples of contemporary picture books each week to discuss and digest. Together we will analyse what makes a great picture book, and how you can bring a bit of that magic into your work.
Making a picture book is a HUGE task and you will benefit most from the course if you are able to set aside time each week to work on your project at home between classes. However everyone is welcome!
Course delivery details
Materials Required: For the first session, please bring in whatever drawing materials you have, pencils, coloured pencils, pens and paper of your choice. Further materials can be purchased from the school shop at competitive prices.
