NEW Insect Illustrations
Exploring and capturing the beauty of the insect world on paper, using different media. Observing these creatures with the help of magnifying glasses. Getting a basic knowledge about their morphology. Producing close-up, larger than life pen drawings, water colour paintings and scientifically correct ink illustrations. Students will be taught: How to use magnifying glasses correctly, how to identify the different body parts of an insect. How to capture, enlarge and reproduce these structures on paper using different media. How to identify the different insect families. About the properties of different media and materials, how to work with them, how to produce morphologically accurate and aesthetically pleasing larger than life illustrations, including simple line drawings, three-dimensional black and white illustrations in pencil and ink and finally coloured pencil drawings as well as watercolour paintings. They will get a basic knowledge about insects and learn what to look out for, in order to produce scientifically accurate illustrations and realistic insect paintings
