Course description
Pastel Course
We have a wide range of both soft pastels and oil pastels available for you to work with. If you are an absolute beginner, we recommend that you have some instruction in basic drawing techniques before you move on to pastels. You can then choose from still life, portrait or nude, flowers, architecture and landscape subjects.
All your materials are provided including fixative spray and through the sessions, we will help you with the key decisions in the use of pastels, including choice of paper, background, and establishing the source of light.
You can concentrate exclusively on pastels during your 10 x 2 hour sessions, or you can combine this with watercolour, oil painting, drawing or life drawing by arrangement.
Your 10 sessions can be taken once weekly, or more frequently by appointment and subject to availability. The 10 sessions must be used within four months of your start date.
Cancellation of any individual session requires 48 hours notice or the session will be charged for.
