Course description
Printmaking for Beginners: This course will enable you to investigate various printmaking processes from scratch, including drypoint, lithography, screen printing, linocut and others. Course aims:
� You will make printing plates, and complete a print, from at least three families of printmaking including stencil, lithography, intaglio and relief.
� You will learn safe and productive working in a print studio, covering health and safety and using machinery.
� You will make prints using the Columbian and Rochat presses.
� You will learn how to generate prints from a range of starting points including drawing and photography, and understand where printmaking fits in the history of art and design as well as in current UK creative industries.
If you are a returning learner you will:
� Discuss your aims with your tutor and come up with some achievable personal targets for the course.

It is an ongoing course perfect for complete beginners but also those who would like to build on their printmaking skills with step-by-step training as well as a chance to develop your own project at the end of term.
Due to legal Health & Safety requirements we have suspended our etching processes until we have safe alternatives in place.
