Course description
Printmaking - Intermediate: You will cover many printmaking techniques, which reflect exciting contemporary printmaking developments and combination of techniques. Course aims:
� You will design and complete a term-long project, resulting in finished prints, based on your own ongoing print practice and in conjunction with regular tutorials.
� You will be able to improve understanding, and professionalise your use of, one or more printing techniques of own choice.
� You will gain an understanding of professional studio use and practice, including working with relief presses and paper handling.
� You will learn digital skills relevant to preparing images for print with Photoshop and other programmes.
On this course, you will be encouraged to work at your own pace on projects that will be designed to cover your individual interests and experience. The classes are relaxed and friendly and include regular discussions on printmakers, printmaking history, tools/equipment and terminology. As a mixed group from intermediate to more experienced level, students share their experience and ideas.
You will learn through:
Practical 'hands on' experience
Tutor demonstrations, individual and group tuition
Exchanging ideas and experience
Investigating the work of artists and printmakers
Due to legal Health & Safety requirements we have suspended our etching processes until we have safe alternatives in place.

Suitability - Who should attend?
You should have a working knowledge and experience of at least one form of printmaking, although refresher sessions are available for a range of techniques
