Production University of the Arts London Extended Diploma

90 or 180 Credit Course

Achieve a 90-credit diploma in your first year of study then top up to 180 credits on the extended diploma in the second year. The extended diploma gives you much more detail on the subject — it's the same as three A-levels and is a great route into university. If you already have 90 credits from another college, you can choose to top up to the extended diploma with just one year of study.

Introduction

Are you an aspiring musician, singer, music producer or DJ? On this course, you will improve your rehearsal, performance skills and production skills.

You'll take part in live performances inside and outside the College. And you'll have a Gigajam account to help you record, compose and improvise music - and to give you additional qualifications.

Performance students will take part in a variety of gigs in different venues this will give you the opportunity to develop your technical ability and to build your ensemble skills, improving your communication, analytical, time management and problem-solving skills. There will be a strong emphasis on music theory and on understanding the features and roots of popular music.

Production Students will develop your skills in recording, mixing, electronic composition, sampling and live sound.

Assessment

You will be assessed on practical skills, research, performance and evaluation. Through a series of developmental units, you will develop your knowledge and skills, leading up to a final assessment in the summer term.
