Course description
This programme will help you develop the academic and linguistic skills required for degree level study. They will also provide you with a basic introduction to the key principles of business or law, to enable you to study these disciplines with confidence. Students who achieve the following grades will be able to progress to a: Three year Business Degree at The University of Law: 50% overall grade and 55% in the English module, in the International Foundation Programme - Business. This one year course is made up of two semesters consisting of 12 teaching weeks, with one week induction. Students will attend three modules per semester.
A balanced mixture of coursework, in-class tests and formal examinations will be used to assess and evaluate each student’s progress throughout this programme. Students will be encouraged to work both independently and in teams in order to be fully prepared for their future academic journey and develop the skills required both for individual research and team work.
This course will help you develop the academic and linguistic skills you will need at degree level. You will study some common modules and also learn key business or legal concepts, depending on which degree path you intend to follow. Common modules are: English Language and Study Skills; Practical Numeracy Skills; English Language 2; Research Project. Business moduels are: Introduction to Business Concepts and Skills; Business Concepts 2.
