Course description

Safety Critical Procedures

Human factors in procedure writing.

This course is aimed at delegates responsible for developing, writing and reviewing procedures, typically safety critical operations and maintenance procedures.

The UK HSE roadmap is presented as a methodology for the identification and assessment of safety critical tasks under the COMAH Regulations. This gives an
introduction of how companies can optimise tasks to reduce the risk of human error. This demonstrates how safety critical procedures are just one way way of reducing risk in the context of the hierarchy of control.

The course follows the principles of the UK HSE guidance on human factors in procedures and is also compliant with the Energy Institute Guidance for Human Factors Safety Critical Task Analysis
