Course description
HR Professionals on this course are typically either, looking to work, or are working in an HR Advisor or Administrative roles as part of the HR function delivering front line support to managers and employees.Your work is likely to include handling day to day queries and providing HR advice; working on a range of HR processes involving the employee life cycle, from recruitment through to retirement; using HR systems to keep records; providing relevant HR information to the business; working with the business on HR changes. You will typically be taking ownership for providing advice to managers on a wide range of HR issues, using company policy and current law, giving basic guidance that is advisory and compliant.As a Line Manager you may also benefit from the people skills and knowledge in this programme. It is also very practical and informative for small business owners or managers if you have responsibility for managing the people element in your teams and organisations.
Suitability - Who should attend?
Candidates will have a good level of education to include English language, verbal and written skills, along with ICT skills such as Microsoft Office. Relevant experience in Human Resources will be very useful.
Training Course Content
Effective learning is an individual experience and we will apply a range of techniques to help you get the most from the course. In a group environment you will experience theory, concepts and best practice principles and look to apply them to workplace situations and scenarios. The group can become a learning network to help you develop or take on greater levels of responsibility.
The course is designed over four modules, based on the CIPD Profession Map, the aim of which is to provide a broad range of knowledge and practical skills on which to contribute to people management practices in your organisation.

- Essentials of people practice
Course delivery details
Students are required to pass one assignment per unit. The format of assessment may also include reports, observed to role plays such as interviewing or delivering a learning session and reflective statements – your tutor will guide you and show you exactly what is required. All assessments are relevant to the workplace.
The course will require additional personal study to gain a wider appreciation of the topics. You should assume that the classroom hours each week are matched by at least an equivalent amount of your own time in researching related material and writing assignments. Student participation in class is essential and the sharing of HR experience is a highly valued part of the programme.
Classroom sessions are currently scheduled for Wednesday (Lackham), 1.00pm– 5.00pm and over a period of 30 weeks.
Apprenticeships
The College also offers this Certificate as an integral part of the new Level 3 HR Support Apprenticeship scheme. Supporting Employers may be able to fund this programme through the Apprenticeship Levy. If your Employer is not currently in receipt of this funding, we will be able to guide them on how this can be achieved
