In modern business, dealing with change and, more importantly, managing the impact of change has become a high priority for all organisations. The ability to lead individuals, teams and entire companies through change is increasingly critical to overall success, as is an understanding the different perspectives that customers, team members and stakeholders have of the change process.
This 5-day Change Management Foundation and Practitioner course is designed precisely to respond to these necessities, providing delegates with the knowledge and skills to implement change effectively. As well as covering a range of established frameworks for leading change, the programme will help candidates understand the human or emotional aspect of how different people react to change.
It goes beyond the scope of a traditional project or programme management approach, focusing on 4 core types of areas: individual change, team change, organisational change and leading change.
The syllabus based on The Effective Change Managers Handbook prepares delegates for the Foundation and/or Practitioner exams (taken on the 3rd and 5th days of training respectively), allowing them to achieve official certification of their newly acquired change management skills.
Suitability - Who should attend?
This APMG-accredited Change Management Certification is suitable for any project, programme and/or change manager responsible for (or involved in) implementing change in their organisation.
It is ideal for professionals looking to develop a range of practical skills as well as confidence in dealing with all aspects of change.
There are no pre-requisites for taking the courses, but some pre-course study is required to help delegates fully prepare.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
There are 2 levels to this qualification; Foundation and Practitioner.
The first 3 days of the course cover the syllabus and exam for the Foundation level. The exam consists of a 40min multiple-choice paper, with 50 questions on the theories of how change impacts and is affected by the individual, the team, the organisation and the change leader. The pass mark is 50%.
Candidates who undertake the Practitioner level will spend one day building on the knowledge gained of the four change areas from the Foundation level, achieving a deeper knowledge of the principles of change management and an understanding of how to implement and manage change in their organisations. The Practitioner exam is taken on the morning of the 5th day and is a 2.5-hour multiple-choice paper comprising 80 questions based on the given scenario. The course manual and Practitioner handbook may be taken into the exam. The pass mark is 50%.
