Course description

MA Luxury Brand Strategy & Business

The MA Luxury Brand Strategy & Business is a specialist programme that will introduce you to luxury brands, strategic and business models specific to the luxury industry.

The programme offers students from varied backgrounds and disciplines the opportunity to be introduced to the luxury industry at postgraduate level, utilising and honing your existing transferable skills whilst attaining valuable knowledge in line with your career aspirations to work in the luxury industry or brand.

Suitability - Who should attend?

Students must be aged at least 18 years old on 31st August at the start of the academic year in which they intend to join this course. An academic year runs 1st September-31st August annually. For the duration of the academic year, a student is considered to be their academic age for admissions purposes, regardless of when their birthday falls within that academic year.

We welcome applicants from a wide variety of subject areas and professional backgrounds, but with a genuine interest in the luxury industry.

The standard entry requirements for this course is a BA honours degree, preferably at 2:2 or above, or an equivalent EU/international qualification.

Outcome / Qualification etc.

This MA is an internationally recognised qualification validated by the University of Buckingham, worth 180 credits at QCF Level 7.

The programme aims to ensure that on completion of the course you are able to demonstrate:

  • Critical awareness of current issues and developments in the luxury industries
  • The effective application of critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional and business responsibility, integrity and ethics
  • The ability to reflect on your own progress as a learner and professional practitioner

Training Course Content

The programme is structured as four 10-week terms. The first three are taught and the final term is dedicated to independent study to complete the final projects and a thesis.

This course is also available as a part-time course delivered over two years, structured as eight 10-week terms.

  • Term 2: The Business of Luxury

Final Masters Project

  • Term 3: Luxury Innovation & Futures: Live Luxury Project
  • Term 4: Final Masters Project

Part-Time Programme

The MA part-time students should be advised to reserve one day a week to attend lectures, workshops, seminars and tutorials that may take place online or at the college. This may also involve watching pre-recorded lectures and engaging in pre-prepared activities that relate to the curriculum. In addition to this, students should reserve time for completing coursework and projects as part of their studies. For part-time mode – if we say that they are on one day a week, they should dedicate 1.5 days a week for project work and self-directed study.

Expenses

Course fee: £28,368 (including VAT)

In order to confirm and secure a place on this course, students will be asked to pay a deposit in the amount of £1,200 at the point of receiving an offer from us.

UK/EU students can pay the tuition fee in instalments throughout the year.

International students will be asked to pay their course fee in full in advance of arriving at the College and prior to the issue of CAS.
