Course description

This course has been designed mainly for Principal Designers/Designers, but will be relevant for anyone who is a key duty holder, whether they are the Client, the Principal Contractor or other Contractors. This course offers guidance on the roles and responsibilities of the CDM Designer duty holders contained within the Regulations.

  • The roles of the client, principal designer and designers
  • The requirements for assessment of knowledge, skills, experience and resources
  • The requirement for project documentation
  • CDM 2015 overview and application
  • Duty holder responsibilities
  • Assisting with preparation of the client brief
  • Assisting with the preparation of pre-construction information
  • Planning, managing and monitoring work during the pre-construction phase
  • The elimination, reduction, and control of risks through design
  • Health and safety file content and requirements

Course delivery details

This course fully interprets the amendments made to CDM 2007, newly titled as Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. It has been especially designed for all those involved in construction projects and delegates will benefit from a clear understanding of their duties and obligations in relation to good health & safety practice in a construction project.
