The aim of this short programme is to provide delegates with the required knowledge, skills and understanding to effectively mentor others within an organisational context.

- those responsible for developing a less skilled member of staff
- Leaders & Managers who mentor team members as part of their role
Outcome / Qualification etc.
- Explain mentoring, and the key knowledge, skills, and attributes they need to be an effective mentor.
- Demonstrate key aspects of the mentor / mentee relationship including putting in place a contract aligned to ethics and showing consideration to safeguarding issues.
- Use effective communication, and mentoring frameworks having applied this knowledge to review a scenario video and demonstrated these in a practice activity.
- Identify methods of engaging with a mentee including being able to use a range of mentoring tools.
- Demonstrate the ability to give and receive feedback effectively, through participating in a practice activity.
- Reflect on their role will as a mentor, identifying personal strengths and development areas, by producing a personal SWOT analysis and development plan.
