Course description
The role of debt advisers, working in organisations from Local Authorities and government agencies to charities and commercial companies, is to support customers in financial difficulty by assessing their circumstances and providing suitable advice to best manage their debts. Such support is often provided against a challenging back-drop, involving multi-complex vulnerabilities and stigma around talking about personal finances.
The Apprenticeship Levy funded Level 3 Debt Adviser Apprenticeship Standard is a first-of-its-kind cross-sector qualification. It provides a cost effective way for public, third, and private sector organisations to up-skill or re-skill new or existing employees from a standing start on a successful career pathway in this vital area.
The programme equips those working in this compliance-led role with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to deliver high quality advice in line with Financial Conduct Authority and other regulatory rules, guidance and principles.
As a not-for-profit trade association with social aims, we are committed to ensuring that the apprenticeship enables an increase in the capacity and quality of debt advice in the UK, especially in response to the economic impact of Covid-19.
