Course description
Photography: Practice and Communication: Meeting ONCE per week, this course is focused on “talking with pictures”. It will challenge you to create content for your photographs that communicate with your audience.
You will learn, through a series of lectures and practical assignments, how photographs create visual narratives and construct conceptual ideas. You will be introduced to contemporary debates about photography and will gain knowledge of the history of this popular medium.
You will work on photography assignments that are designed to place the theory in the context of your own photography practice and will be challenged to investigate visual language and to develop your own “visual voice”.
You will end the course with a portfolio of pictures that will form the foundation of your individual photography practice.
