Leader in Adult Care – Level 5 Apprenticeship
A leader in Adult Care has responsibilty for managing community or residental based services, this role has a great element of leadership whether for care teams or in leading a service itself . They will also have responsilbility to ensure the the service is safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well lead.
They may be a registered manager of a service, deputy or assistant manager and will be responsilble for ensuring the regulatory compliance of the care given and the values and training of staff within the established standards and regulations.
They will also be responsible for business development, finiancal control through managing budgets, organisational resilience and continuity of the services provided and leading organisational change.
- You will be allocated a dedicated Teaching Assessor.
- An Individual Learning Plan will be developed with you and your Teaching Assessor.
- You will have formal progress reviews with your Assessor and Manager every 8-10 weeks.
- Coaching & Mentoring forms an integral part of your individual learning journey to ensure you have the most appropriate guidance and support to complete your programme.
- At the end of your programme you will complete an End-Point Assessment with an independent Assessment organisation, agreed by your employer.
- You will mutually agree SMART targets that take into consideration your individual ambitions and career goals.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Entry Requirements for English and maths:
Apprentices are required to meet the initial entry points for English and maths as follows:
- For level 2 Apprenticeship training for companies the minimum entry level for English and maths is ‘Entry level 3’ (E3).
- For all level 3 and 4 Apprenticeship training for companies the minimum English and maths level 1, ideally level 2.
- For level 5 and 6 Apprenticeship training for companies, the minimum English and maths should be level 2, some individual circumstances may be considered at level 1.
Initial assessment is completed prior to starting the course. All applicants will be supported to attain these entry levels prior to joining the course, or whilst on the course, where possible.
Apprentices working with young people and vulnerable adults would be required to hold a DBS clearance as necessary.

- 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays
- living in England
- not in full-time education
Who it's for:
The Leader in Adult Care will guide and inspire teams to make positive differences to people that are in the care setting when they are challenged with physical, emotional and practical challenges. They will be a leader of a care team and will develop and embed a value’s based culture at the provision. They may work in the following areas: residental and nursing homes, domicillary care services, day centres, persons own home, in a management role and some clinical health care settings.
