Course description
This course aims to provide students with knowledge and critical understanding of the organisation and management of health care organisations. Although the practical aspects of management are the most critical for managers, it is also important to have some grounding in the major theories. Some managers help to plan programmes, whilst others may have plans for their programmes prepared at a higher level in the organisation. Whichever is the case, a major part of the manager's work is to implement plans of action and the module aims to provide a variety of tools and approaches to help managers with this task. The learning is structured around formal lectures, group work and scheduled reading to complete the learning hours throughout. Please note that students have timetabled self-directed learning to give time for the reading.
