Course description

This course aims to provide students with knowledge and critical understanding of the principles of parasite ecology and epidemiology and their practical application. Core information is presented in interactive lectures and through student-directed learning. This is supported by tutorials based around group work and problem-solving exercises. Practical sessions give hands-on experience of key laboratory techniques used in epidemiological surveys and the opportunity to work with some of the organisms covered in the lectures.

Suitability - Who should attend?

A knowledge of either Parasitology & Vector Biology is required or knowledge of clinical tropical medicine. Proof of English to IELTS 6.5.

Upon successful completion of this programme, delegates will be able to:

  • Apply techniques used in epidemiological surveys
