Memory techniques fit into the category of practical items that can be learnt actively. This means that there will be lots of activities, lots of time to work out your own memory systems, practice and apply them.

Your course tutor

Charlie has been using memory techniques for over 30 years, for his personal and professional activities. He has taught memory techniques to hundreds of people, including:

• Public speakers, to use for their presentations
• Primary and secondary school children, to use for exams and tests
• Language learners, to start learning a new language or to continue learning one

Charlie practices what he teaches and uses memory techniques on a daily basis. As a learner, he learns a new language every couple of years. As a consumer he always learns his credit card numbers off by heart (perhaps not such a good move!). And as a hobbyist he learns any number of lists of facts, such as country flags, Presidents of obscure countries…!
