Course description

This seminar will take attendees through the law and practice relating to applications for disclosure and deposition against companies and individuals in England and Wales in aid of proceedings overseas. Such applications are generally made or assisted by English firms and are made under the Evidence (Proceedings in Other Jurisdictions) Act 1975.


Barrister Phillip Patterson will cover when applications of this sort are appropriate and what must be shown if the application is to succeed.


The seminar will also look in practical terms at how the applications are made and what common pitfalls should be avoided, as well as what happens next after an order is made.
