Course description

Tackling misleading environmental claims remains a key focus for the Competition and Markets Authority (‘CMA’) and Advertising Standards Authority (‘ASA’). The enforcement risk will increase significantly when the CMA gets new powers to impose penalties of up to 10% of global turnover in mid-late 2024.

As this is an area that is evolving rapidly, any business that makes environmental or sustainability claims is strongly advised to monitor developments closely.

Presented by regulatory lawyer Richard Collie, this webinar will discuss the legal framework governing green claims, including the DMCC Bill, CMA Green Claims Code and ASA’s CAP Code. It will provide an update on key ASA Rulings covering green claims across a number of sectors, and will explore specific types of environmental claims, such as corporate sustainability targets, CO2 emissions, and more.
