Pricing transparency is increasingly a high priority for the Competition and Markets Authority (‘CMA’), with further enforcement set to continue in 2024.


Consumer law is having to evolve quickly to respond to emerging issues such as dynamic and personalised pricing (including via the integration of AI) - while tackling misleading price promotions and bogus discounts remain high on the CMA’s agenda.


Presented by regulatory lawyer Richard Collie, this webinar provides an overview of the legal framework governing misleading pricing and promotions and an update on the CMA’s enforcement action in relation to Wowcher and Emma Sleep. CTSI guidance for traders on pricing practices will also be discussed, along with guidance on personalised and dynamic pricing and much more.

Pricing transparency is increasingly a high priority for the Competition and Markets Authority (‘CMA’), with further enforcement set to continue in 2024.

The risks in this area will only increase as the CMA is granted new powers to impose penalties of up to 10% of global turnover under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (‘DMCC’) Bill, which is due to comes into force in mid-late 2024.

Consumer law is having to evolve quickly to respond to emerging issues such as dynamic and personalised pricing (including via the integration of AI) - while tackling misleading price promotions and bogus discounts remain high on the CMA’s agenda.
