At some stage in your career you may well need to give advice in a murder case and you will need to be aware of any changes in the law. Aimed at both defence and prosecution lawyers, this handy 1 hour introduction will provide an insight into the law and enable you to deal with a murder case.
It will explore the definition of murder, defences and partial defences (including diminished responsibility, loss of control, suicide pacts and infanticide), the year and a day rule, intent, causation, and involuntary manslaughter.
It is presented by Ian Kelcey, joint Chair of the Law Society Criminal Law Committee, who has practised exclusively in criminal law for the last 25 years.
