This 30 minute introduction will examine the issue of consent including samples and searches and is aimed at those who provide legal advice to suspects at the police station stage of proceedings.
Presented by seasoned expert Colin Beaumont, the topics discussed will include: the interview and the issue of consent; samples (intimate and non-intimate and whether consent is required); removal of clothing in order to look for scars, marks and tattoos; ultrasound and x-rays; house searches under Section 18 of PACE; and strip searches and intimate searches.
