Course description

Letters of intent are commonplace within the UK construction industry. Where projects go well, the fact that work started out under a letter of intent causes few problems, however, when disputes or issues arise the status and effect of the letter of intent can become acutely problematic.

This online seminar will provide a summary of the key legal principles and practical tips, with a discussion of relevant caselaw.

What is a letter of intent? Are they a necessary evil or is there an alternative to their use? What happens if a formal contract is never properly executed? All these questions, and more, will be answered by presenter Sarah Schutte, as she guides you through the shark-infested waters of using letters of intent on construction projects.
