Course description

This virtual classroom seminar looks at both legislation and the practical issues involved when dealing with the numerous vulnerable people you can expect to meet in a trial whether you prosecute or defend. How do you cross-examine a person with autism? How can you bring a person with ADHD up to proof when they are stressed? How do you know if the 7-year-old in court understands the question?

It will give you a solid statutory framework to enable your party to participate in court as well as the next person. Procedural matters and caselaw are examined in depth so you can ensure the court treats your witness or client fairly.

During the live session you will be given lots of practical tips in how to deal with vulnerable people. There will be plenty of practical, real examples from the Magistrates’ and Crown Court.
