Course description
Current demand for electric car charging points is increasing year on year, this is being driven by changes to government policy in which they intend to eliminate all new petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
As the UK strives towards becoming a net-zero economy by 2050, its’ Transport strategy is a key pillar in enabling a successful transition. The transport sector is one of the UK’s largest emitters of CO2 and a major source of air pollution in cities. Decarbonizing transport is therefore a key priority for the UK Government.
This priority is reflected across all levels of Government strategies to stimulate the electrification of UK vehicles from large fleets of public buses to delivery vans, HGVs and private cars. As of July 2022, there were over 520,000 battery-electric cars in the UK and in 2021-22 there was a 92% increase in electrical vehicle registrations on 2020. This figure is predicted to grow steadily.
