Course description
QuarkXPress Introduction
This course is ideal for those just starting out with QuarkXPress, or for those who have taught themselves the software and want to add professional training to their CV. You will gain an in-depth understanding of page layout concepts and be confident in managing spreads, pages and adding graphical and text elements. As well as this, you'll learn about the different aspects that need to be considered when preparing to print or publish your work, as well as exporting it into different formats. By the end of the day you'll be ready to create stunning layouts for flyers, posters, booklets and advertising with QuarkXPress.
Suitability - Who should attend?
This workshop is suitable for anyone with basic PC or Mac skills who wishes to learn InDesign from scratch or wants to improve their existing knowledge of the program.

- Defining columns and gutters

- Drawing items
- Copy, cut, paste, select all
- Duplicating, grouping and ungrouping, locking and unlocking items
- Adding text elements
- Creating text boxes and adding text
- Changing fonts and font sizes
- Overflowing text, linking and unlinking text boxes and controlling text flow
- Importing, resizing and cropping images
- Creating and resizing picture boxes
- Special effects, transparency and drop shadows
- Introduction to Master Pages
- Printing and publishing
- Export to other formats (pdf etc)
Course delivery details
Course runs from 10am - 4pm (5 hours)
We run classroom based courses at our London studios. We also offer this course in live online format for you to participate remotely. Whichever mode you choose you can be assured that all other attendees will be attending in the same mode as you. Private training options are also available.
