Course description
The last 18 months have seen the biggest migration of people across borders in living memory (United Nations, 2016). Many of these people have been children and families fleeing warzones, hostile regimes and poverty. Then being followed by weeks, months or years in refugee camps. The impact on children’s health, safety, education and wellbeing is significant.
Many settings are now preparing to welcome refugee children and their families and this one day course will help you to consider the diverse experiences of refugee families; with the aim of fostering practitioner understanding of the issues the children and families may face. The course will be participatory in nature and will draw upon case studies, research evidence and examples of effective practice.
