Course description
Overview
The area of Special Guardianship, Placement Orders and Adoption is evolving at a rapid pace. All practitioners, whether local authority based or private practice, need to be familiar with these changes and developments so as to provide accurate advice. This course will give you an essential overview of those changes and how the law stands. This in turn will help you understand how the law affects your clients and your practice.
Who is this for?
This course will be of benefit to trainee solicitors, legal executives, and qualified solicitors, advocates, as well as support staff. Also suitable for local authority social workers, local authority budget holders, adoption panel managers, as well as social work practitioners.
What will you learn?
The course will consider the law, practice and procedure, as well as provide you an opportunity to have a questions and answers session with our highly experienced tutor.
The course will cover developments in case law and practice, such as the cases of Re P-S (Children) 2018 EWCA Civ 1407, F & G (Discharge of Special Guardianship Order) 2021 EWCA Civ 622 and more recently, in A County Council v NHS Clinical Commissioning Group and others 2022 EWFC 31
The course will use examples from the presenter's own experience, so as to put the law into context.
